Description

Have you ever walked by an old home and thought, “if only those walls could talk”? The first annual Garfield Park Historic Walking Tour is giving voice to homes in the neighborhood and sharing the stories of the individuals who have helped shape the park over the decades. From George Kessler to Cannonball Baker, Garfield Park has seen its share of Indy movers and shakers. Join us on Saturday, November 19th at 10 a.m. to learn more about Indianapolis’ oldest park and the people who built a community around it. Event details: We'll meet in the parking lot of the Yoke Pavilion (2602 Shelby Street) at 10 a.m. before heading out on the walk, which should take approximately one hour. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be provided. Parking is available across the street by the Garfield Park tennis courts. After the walk, we will have the opportunity for an exclusive early look inside the Yoke Pavilion! This event would not be possible without the support of Garfield Park neighbor and historian Ed Berry, Shelley Nescola with Chicago Title, and Katie Hughes with Guaranteed Rate. Reach out to Keelee Slack ([email protected]) with any questions. A huge thank you to our sponsors:
