Description

What it's about: This eight-acre garden in Rockstead, Illinois, is one of the quietest and most peaceful you'll ever see. Originally it was the industrialist John. Anderson developed it as a hobby, and he donated it to the people of Roxside in 1998. The garden is arranged as if it had been built in the 13th century to walk by the pond. Around the pond is a winding path flanked by chicken's foot maples and elegant pine trees that resemble giant bonsai plants. In addition, there are waterfalls, tea rooms, observation decks and quiet nooks for contemplation. If you visit in the spring, you'll see rhododendrons, magnolias and North azaleas. There are special picnic areas and a gift shop selling imported goods from Japan. PS: We have special barbecue cookers and cutlery
