Ever since playing their first gig here back in February, Jambassadors have been blazing trails all around the Foothills. The name says it all as these four daredevil musicians have converged to represent the vibrant spirit and intrepid swagger of our local jam-centric music community.
The mad scientist of the keyboards – Jesse Jennings – leads the way with his tendency to color outside the lines and drill sonic corridors through our minds. This day happens to be his birthday so he'll be flying higher than Icarus (skipping the wings melted by the sun part of the story). The name you all know – Jonny Mojo – is always up for a new challenge and we couldn’t be happier to hear his breathtaking guitar work venturing into fresh territory outside of his typical Grateful Dead comfort zone.
The band was dealt a blow recently when drummer/singer David Lee was involved in an accident. He is unfortunately on the sidelines healing and will be ok. Thankfully the band has an incredible drummer holding things down in his absence - Jacob Swedlow (Love Mischief). They played their first show with him this past weekend and word is the energy was off the charts. Along with bassist Brett Sanders, the pair will be locked in the pocket and keeping if funky while clearing the runway for blast off. You’ll be delighted with their selection of covers ranging from Pink Floyd psychedelia to funk and soul deep cuts. This is the art of jamming at its finest!
