We are a non-profit organization that was established to give back to individuals who willingly devote their life to their loved ones that have endured a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, ALS, MS, Parkinson’s Disease or Alzheimer’s Disease.
If you have ever known someone that has been diagnosed with any of the above conditions, you will understand the demands placed on their loved ones, both physically and emotionally, to help the survivor continue their fight. As a society we always focus on the individual that is enduring the medical condition, but we forget about the people that are supporting them along the way.
Empowering Hope was established to be able to recognize the caregivers who support these individuals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We want to provide these caregivers with an all expenses paid trip to rest, recharge and recover so they can come back and help their loved ones continue on their recovery journey.
Empowering Hope will also be starting a scholarship for individuals affected by the conditions mentioned above. The goal of the scholarship is to provide families that are experiencing a financial hardship continue with necessary therapy, obtain the proper medical equipment and make home adaptations as appropriate to allow the survivor to become as independent as possible. The first few months and years after any of the conditions mentioned above are the most critical time for therapy to occur, as this is when the most recovery is seen. Often times, insurance companies limit the amount of therapy these individuals can receive, ultimately affecting their overall recovery and health.
