Description

This co-ed Active Stretching class meets twice weekly for one hour via ZOOM. Classes meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm, and each Friday morning at 10:00 am. The cost of each class is $10 paid via PayPal or by personal check. There is no contract or commitment required of any kind. There are no “levels” or “blocks”. The class is on-going. Active Stretching is NATURAL stretching and is appropriate for every body. Active Stretching speeds up muscle growth for those looking to build muscles or maintain muscle mass, and it effectively and quickly relieves stiff joints, tight muscles and body aches and pain. It can also reverse some of the effects of aging when done consistently. Active Stretching is an excellent complement to Yoga, aerobics, a gym workout, a run, a walk, or any activity that uses muscles. Active Stretching is the stretching used by numerous professional sports teams and by award-winning Olympic Athletes. Being completely natural, it is suitable for everyone. Active Stretching benefits every cell and every organ of your body. Active Stretching is never boring stretching. It is FAST, and it is FUN stretching! The class is appropriate for all ages and all levels of fitness. Students in the class have ranged in age from 5 to 85 years old. The fitness level of students in the class has ranged from strictly sedentary to active elite athletes including an Olympic hopeful, Marathon and Triathlon winners and everything in between. The instructor is Barry Bailey, a licensed Massage Therapist and Active Stretching Instructor and Coach with thirty years’ experience. He has employed Active Stretching in his massage practice and with his students as well as sharing it publicly with the students at numerous high schools, Centers on Aging, Health Fairs and Farmer’s Markets. Active Stretching has been a very successful element in his massage practice. His YouTube channel teaches and demonstrates Active Stretching. To take the class you will need a safe open space in which to stretch. The only props needed for taking the class are a yoga mat or large towel, a rope, and one yoga block. Substitutes are suggested in the instructions I send out to each new student. Contact the instructor if you are interested in attending a class, or to learn more about the class by receiving specific instructions for the class and the ZOOM link which is unique to each class.
