Bonhams Skinner is seeking a Junior Photographer to join our Marlborough, MA based Photography department. Reporting to the Lead Photographer, you will perform basic aspects of studio photography for our website, execute post-production Photoshop work, manage files and upload images to company database. You will also create and manage photo lists, move property to and from the set as needed, keep to ongoing deadlines, and travel as necessary. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Shooting • Shoot property for website and follow Bonhams Skinner naming conventions and the file management protocol set by the Lead Photographer. • Safely handle property on and off set • Follow established dept. standards and best practices as they relate to each sale category • Retouch images and review photographs for quality & consistency. • Assist in maintaining studio equipment including cameras, lighting, and grip equipment. Help maintain the studio space and keep track of supplies. • Process and manage files – attach files to company database • Create and maintain photo lists • Troubleshoot technical problems • Travel as needed Administrative • Process and manage files • Attach files to company database • Send and receive files to third party for processing • Create and maintain photo lists In addition to the tasks and responsibilities listed, you may be required to perform other duties as assigned by your manager. Requirements & Qualifications • 1+ year professional studio experience preferred • Be a proactive self-starter able to manage a high-volume workflow from many different departments simultaneously. • Experience photographing property including both 2D and 3D works of art • Experience in studio lighting techniques and product photography • Knowledge of Phase One digital capture and Adobe Photoshop • Proficiency with Mac platforms and file management systems • Ability to juggle multiple projects with meticulous attention to detail • Ability to prioritize and adhere to fast deadlines • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player • Passion for photography and staying relevant to trends changes in industry • Be able to lift up to 30 lbs, walk up and down stairs throughout the workday, including pushing, pulling and lifting items using proper lifting/moving techniques.
