Rhythmic Translations Opening ReceptionMeet artist, brain tumor survivor, and bodybuilder in training, Richi Garcia. He is the inspiration behind the Richi Childhood Cancer Foundation.Richi's artworks explore movement, transition, and abstract expressionist themes.
His process includes removing and pouring paint on canvas that develops complex layers and gestures. These freely express color, texture, and repetition, creating palpable and dynamic shifts.
At six, Richi, born in Barcelona, Spain, was diagnosed with high-risk medulloblastoma, one of the most aggressive childhood brain tumors. His family made the life-saving decision to move to Boston for treatment at Boston Children's Hospital | Dana Farber (BCH-DF).
While at BCH-DF, a volunteer artist introduced Richi to painting for creative exploration. Since then, Richi has been painting daily to help other childhood cancer survivors.
Tasty foods, drinks, and delightful conversations will also be part of the event! All proceeds will benefit the Richi Cancer Foundation.
