After a successful launch of the "Jazz in The Sanctuary - South Shore" concert series in 2017, it has been an annual event at Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Parkway, Brockton, MA. This year's concert themed "Appreciate Today" will be available both live and virtually, on Saturday, December 3, 6:00 PM, with an inaugural "Meet The Artists" session, 5:00 - 5:30 PM, hosted by WGBH radio personality, Tessil Collins. This exciting evening of world-class music will feature internationally acclaimed Master Drummer/Percussionist/Composer/Arranger/Band Leader/Educator/Author and Recording Artist Yoron Israel , along with pianist George W. Russell, Jr., bassist Avery Sharpe, saxophonist/flautist Chuck Langford and trumpeter Phil Grenadier. New music from Yoron Israel, compositions from his new recording, "New Dreams" and previously recorded works will be featured. Additionally, the concert will honor the memory of Eric Jackson, The Voice of WGBH, Jazz Radio, Boston, who has been an integral part of the "Jazz in the Sanctuary-South Shore" concert series, since it's origin in 2017, as host. This promises to be another great addition of world class music targeted for all ages. The first 25 guests who purchase in-person tickets and/or confirm sponsorship will receive a free autographed copy of Yoron Israel's CD "This Moment." $15 general admission for in-person and live stream. $10 student (under 18 years old) for in-person tickets only. This concert series is made possible through support from the Brockton, and Easton Cultural Councils and private sponsoring partners.
