Escondido Union School District (PreK - 8) will be hosting an in-person Hiring Event at the Carilyn Gilbert Education Center (District Office) for a variety of positions. Address: 2310 Aldergrove Ave. Escondido, CA 92029. #(760) 432-2400 Have the opportunity to talk with school district personnel and apply for various positions. Walk-ins / Registered individuals are accepted between 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Computers will be available to apply and complete any necessary assessments on site, as well as, to be processed for substitute/ regular work. PLEASE ALLOW A FEW HOURS FOR ASSESSMENTS/ PROCESSING. ***Be sure to BRING A VALID PHOTO ID.*** PHYSICAL EXAMS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON-SITE TO THOSE THAT QUALIFY FOR JOB PLACEMENT. General Education ($16.03 - $19.02*/ hour) & Special Education ($17.69 - $22.61*/ hour) * highest range is reserved for credentialed candidates. Candidates that do not have proof of meeting the federal ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)/ NCLB (No Child Left Behind) requirement of 48 college units with a grade of 'C' or better in Math & English, will be given the competency exam at the event. Note: A multiple choice assessment (apx. 40 minutes) is still required of all paraeducator candidates, regardless of NCLB status, and will be given at the event. Nutrition Services Assistant I (Part Time 10 - 18.75 hours/ week)/ Nutrition Services Assistant II (Full Time 27.5 - 40 hours/ week) Nutrition Services Assistant I ($15.64 - $17.24/ hour). This position prepares and distributes food in the school cafeterias during the lunch hours. Light cleaning and money handling is required. Arrive between 8:30 - 10:30 am to complete the application and get certified in Food Handling if you do not already have a San Diego County Food Handlers Certificate. Nutrition Services Assistant II ($16.84 - $18.57/ hour). Works in the Production Kitchen and is responsible for a variety of food service activities for the distribution of food items to District school sites, special programs and catered events. Serves as a lead assistant when based at a school kitchen facility. Noontime Supervisors (Part Time 10 - 18.75 hours/ week) Noontime Supervisors ($15.26 - $16.82/ hour). These positions monitor children on the playground during recess and at the lunch hour. They also may support the site with various tasks such as making copies, locating lost items, accompanying children to the nurse’s office, library, etc. LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) (Full Time 40 hours/ week) Licensed Vocational Nurse ($27.53/ hour). Excellent Schedule! Our school nurses enjoy a great schedule and community environment. They handle specialized procedures, dispensing medication, general first aid, etc. Requires a current state license (LVN or RN) and current BLS (basic life support) card. Family Liaison Bilingual Spanish (Full Time 40 hours/ week) Family Liaison Bilingual ($20.52 - $22.62/ hour). Be the connection between school staff and families. Our family liaisons assist our families with school resources, volunteer opportunities, school wide communication and so much more. Must have excellent communication skills (in both English and Spanish), experience coordinating volunteers/ events, and be comfortable speaking (and interpreting) in front of groups.
