The Last Hoisan Poets - Genny Lim, Nellie Wong & Flo Oy Wong will hold a poetry writing workshop celebrating Faith Ringgold in the Kimball Education Gallery from 3pm - 4:30pm. Writers of all ages and skill levels will learn how to write an “American Sentence.” A 13th century Japanese poetic form called the haiku, inspired Allen Ginsburg’s “American Sentences,” which emulated the form in English. Thlim Sim Ling Gim, is the Hoisan-wa name given to Faith by the poets, means “Believe in heart, make gold.” Come write with The Last Hoisan Poets and  and express your appreciation for Faith Ringgold  - an American Treasure!
