BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, Burr Ridge police handled cases involving a nude photos threat, a trailer scam, a car rolling into its owner, a custody dispute, sledding violators and a fitness center theft. Here is information from the reports: Nude photos threat A resident on 91st Street told an officer New Year's Day that he received messages from the FBI threatening to post certain nude photos if he did not pay the FBI. The officer told the resident that it was a scam and not to respond to the messages. Trailer scam Unknown people tried to sell a trailer through eBay to a resident on Morgan Court on New Year's Eve. She and her husband realized it was a scam after the seller wanted eBay gift cards as payment. They notified eBay. Car rolls into owner A man forgot to put his car in park, and it rolled into him as he got out of the car about 8:30 a.m. Dec. 29 in the 300 block of Shore Drive. He was able to hold the car in place, and an officer put it in park. The man refused medical treatment. Spin-outs in snow While responding to a commercial burglary alarm about 6:30 p.m. Dec. 29 at Grant Street and Heathrow Court, an officer saw a suspicious 2020 Lexus GX460. The person's license plate was covered with snow. The driver acknowledged doing spin-outs at the end of Heathrow Court. The business with the burglar alarm was secure. Not fighting A passerby reported that several youths were fighting about 9 p.m. Dec. 29 near Plainfield Road and Garywood Drive. The youths were playing football in the snow. Custody dispute A man told police Dec. 30 that his ex-wife was a half hour later at Willowbrook's Starbucks for a custody exchange under the court order. An officer reviewed the custody schedule and saw that the winter break schedule differed from the regular one. Illegal dumping? A male teen near 83rd Street and Windsor Court was seen throwing something in a Ziploc bag into a pond about 1 p.m. New Year's Eve. An officer checked the area, but could not find the teen. The officer saw footprints in the snow, but could not see anything that was thrown in the pond. On standby An officer stood by about 2:30 p.m. New Year's Eve as a woman collected her belongings from a house after a domestic disturbance in the 11400 block of 73rd Place. No sledding A resident on Grant Street told police New Year's Day that a group of teens was not allowed to be sledding on the homeowners association's pond. Several teens dispersed when an officer arrived. Fitness center theft A member at the LifeTime fitness center, 601 Burr Ridge Parkway, informed police New Year's Day that someone took his Ironman brand bag and two North Face brand jackets from inside his locked locker between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Lost car A woman told police Monday that she thought her 2004 Mercedes-Benz was stolen from a parking lot on South Frontage Road. An officer found the car on the other side of the business.
