Direct care staff assists clients with eating, light housekeeping and dispensing medications. They help clients achieve the activities of daily living, such as maintaining good hygiene and dressing themselves or assist with more complicated instrumental activities of daily living such as shopping, cooking and doing laundry. Direct care staff may assist their clients in managing their health care, obtaining and using transportation, and managing their finances. Direct care staff will provide clients with recreational and social opportunities. Direct care staff are responsible for all documentation regarding medication, daily living skills, cares, and goal implementation. Direct care staff must ensure that they have completed all training offered to them. Applicants must have and maintain a valid drivers license.
