Hello SLiCErs! The time has come to "reserve your spot" for SLiCE's required training at the end of this semester, our "SLiCE Fall Semester Celebration" on FRI 12/2. All of you were informed of this event months ago, so it should already be on your calendar. This event offers a delightful to come together, decompress, further welcome mid-year hires, congratulate graduates, and celebrate each other. Dinner is provided, as well as good times.
Our December community building event involves two SLiCE traditions - "Boxes of Mystery" & "White Elephant." Boxes of Mystery involves taped-up boxes within boxes that you unwrap (with oven mitts) until you reach the legit prize in the center - this is a solo competition and is more hysterical to watch than anything. White Elephant is a group gift exchange where each staff member brings a wrapped gift, which ideally you spent no money on or at most $5. The key word here is wrapped... you'll draw numbers and take turns selecting a gift, that can be stolen once, and the game continues until all gifts are collected. Again, laughter is majorly involved, and you (may) end up with a fun gift to take home.
Overall, this is a time to reconnect at the end of one semester, before the next begins as a collective SLiCE staff team. Looking forward to seeing y'all and thanks for confirming your attendance by next Wednesday 11/16 by midnight. If you cannot attend, Sarah will follow up with you to find a suitable replacement for your absence.
p.s. partners/kiddos are welcome (reserve their spots, as well)!
