Yalda is the celebration of the longest night of the year with family, grandparents, and relatives. We gather to overcome the darkness of the year's longest night with our loved ones. We read poems and eat nuts, pomegranates, and watermelon. Being one of the most important cultural customs in Iranian culture, Yalda symbolically celebrates the fact that even after the longest nights, there is light, family, and kindness.
