Competition InformationAll abilities welcome, 18 and under. No USA Climbing members are allowed. If you are unfamiliar with speed climbing, or have other questions please reference our rulebook, or talk to your athletes coach. - Registration will close on 11/17 at 11:30pm. ***There will be no t-shirts for this competition. - All competitors will receive 10 raffle tickets for attending this competition! All raffle tickets will be added up at the championship and entered into a big championship raffle! - There will be NO awards ceremony following this competition. Competitors may leave after taking their speed attempts! ***Placements for this competition will count towards this season's team score, as well as qualifying for speed finals for the championship! Competition FormatAthletes will have 2 practice runs and 2 timed runs to get their lowest time. The lower of the two runs will be recorded and counted for their placement. Practice runs will not be timed and do not count towards their placement. CategoriesCompetitors will be broken up by age and by birth year for placement, and will compete against those in their category and gender. The age category breakdown is as follows by birth year: - Category 1: Born in 2014 or later (youngest) - Category 2: Born in 2012-2013 - Category 3: Born in 2009-2011 - Category 4: Born in 2006-2008 - Category 5: Born in 2004-2005 (oldest) ScheduleAthletes will receive their climb time the week of the event. All are welcome to leave after they have taken their two timed runs! (Times will be generally between 8am and 11:30am) VolunteeringYou may not know this but all climbing comps are primarily run by volunteers. As such, we need YOU to volunteer! Here are some things to consider: - The comp can't happen without volunteers. In fact, if there are not sufficient volunteers then the comp end time could be extended and/or the number of routes may be reduced to get all athletes through. - Don't worry if you've never done it, we will train you! - The best way to watch your athlete climb is to volunteer!
