Remembrance Sunday is the Sunday nearest to Armistice Day (11 November, the anniversary of the end of the First World War). On Remembrance Sunday, all over the world but especially in the UK and Commonwealth, we commemorate all who have died in warfare (both civilians and combatant) and pray for the peace of the world. This year we remember especially those who have died in the War in Ukraine and pray for the peace of that region of the world. St John's professional choir sings the beautiful and well-loved setting of the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré and Prayer for Ukraine by the Ukrainian composer Lysenko. The trumpeter sounds Last Post and Reveille. The Service is followed by a Reception in Revelation Gallery, the art gallery of St John's in the Village. You must be fully vaccinated to attend, but face-coverings are optional. Poppies will be available at the door, as will masks for those who wish them. All is, of course, free, but registration here is very helpful for catering purposes. Пам’ятна неділя – найближча неділя до Дня перемир’я (11 листопада, річниці закінчення Першої світової війни). За Службою слідує прийом у Revelation Gallery, художній галереї John's in the Village. Усі присутні повинні бути повністю вакциновані, але одягати маску необов’язково.
