Class Description:
This class is offered for those who wish to build their own wooden, double ended, kayak paddle or single ended canoe paddle. Entry fee covers all materials needed to complete one paddle. Participants will spend three sessions to glue up a blank, shape it into a custom paddle, then sand and finish it.
You may choose between a traditional wide blade paddle, a narrow blade paddle, or single ended canoe paddle.
Things you need to know:
1. Width of your kayak at it's widest point.
2. Style of paddle you want to build.
3. Length of the paddle you are using now.
* There will be a measuring portion of the class that can be done without your current paddle.
All other tools, glue, sandpaper, finishes, clamps and equipment are included in the fee. All participants are welcome, regardless of carpentry skill level. You will take home a fine wooden kayak paddle, built by your own hands.
Class is limited to 6 persons per session.
Tickets are on sale until Nov. 13, 2022 to allow our instructor plenty of time to prepare the materials for class.
