The Rhone River valley in France is known for producing some world-class and expensive wines from regions such as Cote Rotie, Hermitage, and Chateauneuf-du-Pape, but also produces many other great wines, both white and red, from other spots along the meandering Rhone River from red grape varietals such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan, and Cinsault, and white varietals like Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussane, among others. These wines are great values and an affordable way to begin your exploration of the great wines of this part of France without breaking the bank. We will be tasting some great wines to enjoy whether you are already a fan of French wine, or are looking to start an exploration of what the various vineyard areas of France have to offer.
