Join us at the TVA Reservation in Muscle Shoals, AL on November 12 as we work to maintain the Native Plant Garden. The garden and its trails have enhanced habitat for local wildlife and provided accessible recreation opportunities to our local community for decades, but we need your help to maintain it. We will prune invasives along the garden's trails as we learn about native plants from Alabama Master Gardener Margie Anderton. Wear closed toe shoes, clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and bring a pair of work gloves if you have them! We will meet at the pavilion near the garden at 9AM and finish working at 12PM.
Our efforts at the Native Plant Garden are part of Operation Pollination - an initiative to educate on the benefits of bees, other pollinators, and conserving shared habitat through short lessons and hands-on experiences. Educational programs occur quarterly at the Indian Mound Museum, while trail work days to conserve native habitat occur monthly at the TVA Reservation’s Native Plant Garden in Muscle Shoals. All events are free and open to all ages. Youth are especially encouraged to attend.
