This evening is out of doors and features the World Premiere of two Miami Light Project commissions and other short films that need to be BIG. For more information about ScreenDance Miami please visit our website, miamilightproject.com PIEL FIEL (2021) Rosie Herrera + Randy Valdes A meditative journey that explores the connections between our sensations and our spirituality. FEMME (2021) Carla Forte Femme is an original short dance-video focused on and inspired by Latin American women in south Florida. Femme emerges from the personal universe of real stories of women who in some way have felt oppressed by their social circumstances. These women actively participate in the research process, and deconstruct texts, images and experiences that become beauty, simplicity and art. TOPORZEŁ (2019) Iwona Pasińska Beautiful mountain landscapes, from which the figures of dancers grow, rocks, bushes, the severity of nature and its strength, everything intertwines with each other, thus emphasizing the strong bonds between nature and man. The project was inspired by sculptures by Stanisław Szukalski. CHROMACASTING (2018) Monica Lopez de Victoria Chromacasting investigates the rippling movement of emotional volume and optical illusions in the 4th and 5th dimensions. Artistic swimmers conjure up dreamy patterns and hypnotic waves of energy. This colorful geometric aquatic spell visualizes the unseen layers around us. FLOOR FALLS (2020) Jennifer Paterson, Lewis Gourlay, & Abby Warrilow A women stands, takes a breath, steps forward and rises up onto the tip of her toe. We see blackness then she appears. Rotating, spinning and twisting, the camera and her dance around each other. She suspends, or has the floor fallen? SUBJUGATE (2020) Evgenia Taneva Black emptiness is when you believe you have no choice or control. BORIA (2018) Iwona Pasińska The visual layer of the film is co-created with ornamental motifs drawn from Zofia Stryjeńska's painting. The procession of the characters become an impulse for subsequent scenes that make up the metaphor of life in the community, experiencing the unchanging rhythm of the nature and change of fate. LIMINALITY Jennifer Akalina Petuch & Annali Rose Liminality is an underwater dance film exploring a moment of suspended reality, self-discovery and transformation. In our story, the heroine is exploring the space in between life and death and finds the strength to move into a new existence. Program Length: 1hr
