Apartment Building Maintenance Worker / Handyman Job Port Washington apartment complex is seeking an experienced maintenance worker. This individual must be hard-working, diligent and handy. They will be responsible for completing maintenance tasks to repair apartments and to preserve the quality of the facility. The Maintenance Worker will report directly to the on-premises superintendent and be responsible for ensuring that our buildings and property are well maintained and in a safe, sanitary and orderly condition. Requirements for the Apartment Building Maintenance Worker: • At least two (2) years’ experience as a handyman, or maintenance worker. • Must have light electrical and plumbing abilities. • Building maintenance and repair work history required. • Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred. • Background checks/screening and valid driver’s license required. • Hours are Monday through Friday 8am – 4pm. Responsibilities for the Apartment Building Maintenance Worker: • Performing general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, changing electrical outlets and switches, changing plumbing fixtures and faucets and lifting and carrying heavy items. • Performing routine maintenance on building systems. • Cleaning and assisting with upkeep of the facilities. • Maintaining supply rooms. • Performing other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Ability to follow instructions from the Superintendent as well as on-site owners. • Ability to use hand tools and power tools. • Fast learner. Serious inquiries only.
