See below for the schedule. Jan. 1 – 31 Winter Reading Challenge We're kicking off the New Year with a fun Winter Reading Challenge for readers of all ages. Help us reach our community goal of 75,000 minutes! Log four hours of reading in Beanstack during the month to earn a Subway coupon for a free kid's meal (ages 12 and under) or a six-inch sub (ages 13 and up), while supplies last. To participate, register at carlsbadlibrary.beanstack.org or sign in with your existing account. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2-3:30 p.m. Virtual Author TalkFriends of the Library Join New York Times bestselling author Fiona Davis (The Lions of Fifth Avenue) and award-winning authors Susan Cushman (Friends of the Library) and Romalyn Tilghman (To the Stars Through Difficulties) for a panel discussion sharing their library-themed books, followed by a fascinating behind the scenes video presentation of the New York Public Library. Wednesdays in January and February, 10 a.m. Virtual Family Storytimes Join us for stories and songs in English and Spanish with a different theme each week, led by Ms. Angelica. Mondays in January and February, except Jan. 18 and Feb. 15, 3:30-4:30 p.m.Virtual Tween SceneA weekly program of rotating topics such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), games and a hands-on activity for tweens in grades 4 – 6. Presented on Zoom, register online. Throughout January and February Library Book Clubs Choose from six book clubs for adults, one for teens and one for children. Virtual author talk is sponsored by Friends of the Carlsbad Library.
