Join us at the brewery on Sunday, November 13th for our first ever Chili Cook Off! The Ravens aren't playing so why not?? Do you have a chili recipe to brag about? Then enter and find out how yours compares!! Chefs will have 3 categories to choose from: Chicken, Beef, Vegetarian. $20 Registration fee includes: Event & contest entry, entry into door prize raffle, and donation to ALS Foundation in honor of Paul Grewe Jr. **All proceeds to benefit ALS in honor of Paul Grewe Jr. Contestants must pre-register; no walk-ups will be accepted for contest judgment. Contestants must sign-in at the registration upon arrival. Chili must be prepared prior and brought in a 4qt Crock pot or warming pot of choice. Contestants must prepare between 6-8 quarts of chili, either Chicken, Bean, or Vegetarian. If you are using ingredients people may be allergic to, please let a staff member know, so Independent can make signs to be posted at your station. NO condiments such as: oyster crackers, shredded cheese, diced onions and sour cream, will be provided. Eating utensils such as: 2 oz tastes, spoons and napkins will be provided by Independent Specialty condiments/toppings are NOT allowed for judging. Ex: No corn bread, sour cream, etc… There is no room on the tables for extra condiments/toppings/sides etc. Each chef will be able to prepare the chili cup serving for judging. Runners will receive the bowl and serve it to the judges. Judge’s backs will face the serving stations to keep chefs anonymous. No signage, handouts, recipe cards are to be displayed or provided to any of the judges. Contestants are responsible for the clean-up of their station. Event staff will dispose of left-over items after the close of the event.
