Nathan "Uncle Nearest" Green, known as "The Best Whiskey Maker the World Never Knew," stories were passed along for over two centuries and kept alive through kinfolk, neighbors, and aging yellow book pages. Uncle Nearest will be represented by their Regional Marketing Manager, who will give an in-depth historical account of the origins of Tennessee Whiskey and the Man who later became "The Godfather of Tennessee Whiskey" and his incomparable whiskey-making skills and would go on to become a Master Distiller. Spicy caramel, hints of maple, then mellows with dried fruit and floral notes. Sweetness and spice are reminiscent of freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies.Uncle Nearest 1884 is the proud legacy of the Godfather of Tennessee Whiskey, Nearest Green. Each small batch comes from barrels chosen by our founders, and each blend is curated by 5th generation Green descendant Master Blender Victoria Eady Butler.Uncle Nearest Master Blend Edition, fifth generation Nearest Green descendant and their master blender, Victoria Eady Butler, selects a barrel she believes to be the most spectacular of the batch and sets it aside. These select barrels have been blended for the first time to create their perfect blend. Known as the "Godfather of Tennessee Whiskey," Nearest Green was the world's first known African American master distiller. The astonishingly smooth nature of his whiskey began with new American oak barrels, a low barrel entry proof the following filtration through sugar maple charcoal, before resting in a non-temperature controlled Brickhouse for a minimum of six winters.
