UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Patch has compiled a list of events Upper West Siders might want to know about in the coming week. From community board meetings to musical streams to learning about Centra Park, here are the dates to know for the week of Jan. 10. Ongoing Events: Lincoln Center Concert Series: In memory of the lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lincoln Center hosts a weekly "Memorial For Us All" concert series. The concert series began on May 3 and has continued to run through 2021. You can watch the concerts on its Facebook, Youtube, or Instagram account. Nightly Met Opera Streams: In an effort to brighten the lives of New Yorkers, the Met Opera offers a different presentation from the company's "Live in HD" series each day. The performance is available for 23 hours, from 7:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. the next day. You can watch the concerts on the Met's website. Local Community Board Meetings The Upper West Side's Community Board 7 has four meetings during the upcoming week. Housing Committee, Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at 6:30 pm. Around The Upper West Side Comptroller and Council District 7 Forums, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.: The West Side Democrats are hosting a forum to hear from candidates for city comptroller, followed by candidates for Council District 7, which covers the Upper West Side. Year In Review With Neil deGrasse Tyson, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m.: Popular scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson is teaming up with the American Museum of Natural History for the annual news roundup from the universe. The roundup will include commercial space launches, missions to Mars, visits to asteroids, and sky phenomena. A link for the Zoom will be provided after you purchase a ticket for the event. Restoring Central Park's Historic Dairy, Jan. 13 at 3:00 p.m.: A Central Park Conservancy historian and architect will lead a discussion on the importance of the Dairy in Central Park, which was a structure built-in 1871. The Scientist Is In: Meteorites, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m.: Visiting scientist Steven Jaret is teaming up with the American Museum of Natural History for a family-friendly course on crashing objects.
