Biden was shamed into deleting a tweet yesterday after it was slapped with a fact-check - the second time this has happened to Biden since Elon Musk purchased Twitter. The tweet: Early Wednesday, the official White House Twitter account took credit for a boost in retirees' Social Security checks, tweeting: "Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership." The fact-check explained how Biden was misleading the American people: "Seniors will receive a large Social Security benefits increase due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate. President Nixon in 1972 signed into law automatic adjustments tied to the Consumer Price Index." In simple terms: When inflation goes up, so do Social Security checks. It's been that way for the past 50 years. Biden literally did nothing. Inadvertently dunking on himself: If anything, this tweet just highlights that Joe Biden has presided over seventeen consecutive months of inflation over 5% that is crushing the American people. Big picture: For years, Democrats got to treat social media are their personal safe space where they could say anything they wanted and if Republicans said something they didn't like, they'd be censored or slapped with a "fact check." So it's nice to see that under Elon Musk's ownership, Joe Biden's lies ARE ALSO getting fact-checked.
