MICHIGAN — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will deliver her third State of the State Address on Jan. 27, her administration announced Friday in a news release.
The State of the State will be held at 7 p.m. and will be held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic, Whitmer's administration said in the news release.
Normally, Whitmer would ask the House Chambers to deliver the State of the State Address to a joint session. But amid the coronavirus pandemic, a large gathering would pose an unnecessary risk to legislators, justice and staff, Whitmer said.
Additionally, details will be forthcoming on how the public and media will be able to view and broadcast the address.
