WASHINGTON, DC — Several days before President Donald Trump pressured Georgia's secretary of state to "find" enough votes in the state to overturn his November election defeat against Joe Biden, Trump reportedly made a separate phone call to the state's lead election investigator, during which he urged the individual to "find the fraud," according to a Washington Post report. The phone call, made by President Trump on Dec. 23, was confirmed to the Post on Friday by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who said he was not familiar with the specifics of the conversation. However, a source reportedly told the Post that Trump had contacted the official while they were looking into allegations of ballot fraud in Cobb County. The president attempted to intervene by saying the chief investigator would be a "national hero" if they found evidence of fraud. The Post withheld the name of the election investigator due to the potential risk of threats and harassment directed at election officials. Since Election Day, Trump has made at least three calls to government officials in Georgia in an attempt to pressure officials to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's victory in the state.
