Be sure to read ALL of the information prior to registering for the event. You will have an interview after the physical agility test and must have the background book completed. If you do not have the background booklet completed entirely, or do not have the documents listed below, you will be disqualified. Please make sure to fill the background booklet out legibly, and provide all of the email addresses for your references and family members. Physical Agility Test information: The PAT is being held at the Marietta High School at 0830 hours. We recommend being 15 minutes early, you will be disqualified if you are late. The requirements for the PAT are as follows: 1 Minute Sit Up – 27 sit ups Push Ups – 18 push-ups (feet together on your toes, arms must come to a 90 degree angle) 300 Meter Run – 68 seconds or faster 1.5 Mile Run – 15:20 or faster We highly encourage each participant to complete the PAT prior to the date to ensure that you are ready. Background book: CLICK HERE TO GET A COPY OF THE BACKGROUND BOOK The second part of the test day will be an individual interview with an Officer once you have completed the PAT. This interview will be informal and brief; we will be reviewing your background book to ensure that it is complete and that there are no automatic disqualifiers in your history. Please print your own background book here. Fill out this book in your own handwriting using black/blue ink. Provide all information requested such as emails, addresses, phone numbers, etc. It is required that your background book is complete; you will disqualified during the interview if the background book is not complete. You will also need to bring all of the listed documents on page 3. These must be originals or certified copies. You may wear your PT clothes to the interview. If you absolutely cannot print off the background book, you may pick one up from Officer Bishop at Marietta Police Headquarters. Please email him for an appointment time to pick up the book if and only if you have exhausted all other resources. Entrance Exam test requirements: Georgia P.O.S.T. does require minimum scores from one of the following exams (Numerical & Math Scores are not required and will not exclude a candiate from potential employment): Accuplacer: Reading 55, Writing 60, Numberical 34 ASSET: Reading 38, Writing 35, Numberical 35 CPE: Reading 75, Math 75, English 75 ACT: Verbal or English & Reading 18, Math 16 SAT: Verbal or Critical Reading 430, Math 400 COMPASS: Reading 70, Writing 32, Numerical 26 Things you will need on the date of the PT Test: - A government issued picture ID -Original Birth Certificate -Original Social Security Card -High School Diploma -College Diploma -7 Year Drivers History -DD214 -Name Change Document - Water/ Sports Drink - Snack/ Lunch to have between PAT and Interview - The background book (printed, bound and completed by hand in black/ blue ink) - Qualifying scores from one of the above tests Please contact Officer Bishop at [email protected] or 770-794-5347 with any questions
