Please Help: Our Dog Needs Care for an Extended Period of Time

Sorry for the long post, but my father died last week. After a 2700 miles in 3 days road trip with my dog as company I am at the west coast starting his funeral planning. My family is joining me this coming Tuesday morning, by flying out to LA for the service. My wife and 2 daughters will be staying with me there until we settle his affairs as best I can. My father didn't set up a trust or whatever so the house will have to go into probate. California's health dept has been really really slow with death certificates since COVID and the estimate I got says it could be 3 weeks after he's buried before I get them. If you've ever handled the death of a loved one these death certificates are what you need to finish business, close accounts, start the legal processes etc. All that to say there's a lot of indefinite timeframes at play. Our original plan was to ship the dog with them but delta isn't allowing pet shipping right now. The backup plan was a couple friends who said they'd be open to watching him for us til we return and we'll they both fell through as unable to do it. So we're kind of in a pickle with flight going out this Tues. The tricky part is that we don't know how long exactly this will be for. It could be 3-4 weeks it could be 2 mos. We are not rich (this whole thing is already a financial hardship that has upturned our lives) so boarding him somewhere indefinitely is not an option as it would cost a small fortune. Our only chance now is trying to find someone in town who would be willing to do it. We would pay for all his food and expenses he incurs. I have cashapp, zelle, PayPal, venmo etc. So that should be easy. The person should be a regular resident of town as with the unknown timeframe a student would have to leave and come back and we'll be back at where we started. So it should be a local whonactually lives in ithaca full time. His name is Bubba and he's a corgi pit mix. Think a corgi with short brindle hair like a pit.
