Description
Newborn Sleep Workshop Shannon of CALM + SLEEPY will be hosting a newborn sleep workshop and parent gathering on Sunday 11/13 at11am. For this session we will cover the infant phase from 0-4 months. What to expect, what’s going on developmentally, what to look for as they grow, the science of sleep, routines, and practicing good sleep hygiene. Are you anxious about how to set up for good sleep or preparations to go back to work? Come learn and discuss how with knowledge and planning you can keep the transitions low-stress. This class is for both parts of the parent team who have a baby from 0-4 months and expecting parents. Also welcoming grandparents, caregivers, and professionals in the perinatal community hoping to learn more for their clients. We will meet all together (babies and comfortably contained kiddos welcome) at Beacon Community Fitness. Class is 90 minutes long and will involve some breaks and moving around. Floor sitting, rocking chair, and yoga balls available to get comfortable. Always inviting nursing and feeding or walking around with babe in carrier or stroller. On the go and adaptable! Bring your own food or drinks if needed! I will supply some treats, apple cider and water. Leaving this class, you should feel more confident with calming your baby down, knowing what patterns might start to form, how and why to use a swaddle, tricks for troubleshooting potential problems, and a takeaway chart to see how long each developmental stage likes to be awake for. Investment for class is $55 (Contact me for special pricing options) Can’t make it? Take home package includes video recording, custom email to answer any questions, and cheat sheet print outs available. Message me with interest to purchase (sent out after the event date). Discounted one-on-one services for attendees looking for more help or sleep training down the road. Plus, SOCIALIZE! After class open invitation to get together with the group! Make connections with other new parents and share your troubles and triumphs. Following the class, you can walk or drive up the street to Apre for hard seltzers and yummy non-alcoholic drinks and small snacks. Learning about the newborn phase and giving yourself the confidence and knowledge to start this part of your life is important. BUT, I have found that surrounding yourself with others in the same boat is just as helpful. A group of parent friends to text, meet up with, encourage and support is something I hope this workshop helps you find. Shannon is a certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and offers support using science + research, experience, and extensive training. No family is the same so her advice is just as unique. Personally she uses a mindful approach and likes to create a mixture of methods to fit just right. More info about CALM + SLEEPY at: www.calmandsleepy.com @calm_and_sleepy
