With the growing crime rates in NE Seattle, reduced Seattle Police coverage, recent events like the kidnapping attempt in View Ridge the time is NOW to bring the community together and discuss this topic. Lets come together and ensure our neighborhoods are safer for our children.
Goals for the meeting:
Make all the community aware of the current situation in NE Seattle concerning the safety of our kids. SPD will attend to share data, describe the situation and what we can do about it Bring community leaders together with the public to share their perspective and gain feedback from all of you. Create a venue for in-person dialog that isn't happening today. Seattle Police, Seattle Gov, U-Village, Childrens, SPS, Private Schools, and other community leaders have been invited and will be attending.Give everyone a venue to share their feedback. Similar meetings have happened in Ballard, Greenwood to focus on crime in general. The interest of this is meeting is focused on child safety but could expand to include other topics in future quarterly meetings. Date: November 15th at 7PM-8:30PM
Location: St Bridget's Church
Attendees: All people in the communities of NE Seattle (North/Sandpoint Police Precinct). This event isn't intended to include kids. Community Leaders that have a stake in the safety of our children. SPD, SPS, Seattle Gov/Alex Pedersen's office, U-Village Mgt, LCC Leadership, Private School Leadership, Seattle Children's Leadership. Feel free and extend the invite to this public event.
