Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at Tap House 66 in Johnson City on Thursday, Dec. 15. Karen Rontowski is headlining the show and Keith Hannon and Jason Zangrone are joining host Mike Peters. The show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are $5 at the door, which opens at 6:30. Come out and enjoy the show. About the comedians: Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske, and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters. Jason Zongrone started doing stand-up in Utica, N.Y., in 2019. A member of Bus Stop Robot, the house improv team at the Uptown Theatre of Creative Arts, Zongrone animated a music video, “I’ll Be Home for Chanukah,” which was featured in WIBX 950s 2020 Christmas special. Keith Hannon began his lackluster descent into Stand-up comedy as a student at Ithaca College. After graduation, he went against his parents' wishes and took the pursuits to Los Angeles, where he performed regularly at several clubs, including the Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. Now, Hannon has three children and finds nothing in life funny, but performs on occasion because it's an excuse to get out of the house. Karen Rontoswki’s stand-up showcases endearing, self-effacing and intelligent characters that catch you by surprise every time. She uniquely blends comedy with her experience as a Paranormal Investigator, Tarot and reiki master. Rontowski has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Sirius Satellite Radio, Comics Unleashed, Comedy.com, Live at Gotham, Comedy Central and Mysteries of the Unexplained.
