Have a new sewing machine and need help figuring out how to use it? Learn to use your machine during this hour long, one on one session with Jennifer Thompson, owner of local Houston business Jennty Designs. In this class you will learn how to thread your machine, how to wind a bobbin and load it into the machine, basic stitches such as the straight stitch and zigzag stitch, the functions of all the dials, thread tension, machine care, and more! You will leave feeling comfortable with your new machine and ready to start sewing projects on it! The instructor has spent over 500 hours teaching students of all ages how to sew. Her struggles learning math as a child has given her a deep empathy and patience for teaching! She focuses on teaching the "why" behind every technique. Fostering positivity and self confidence is a major part of her teaching style. Drinks and snacks will be provided! Please bring your sewing machine, along with any accessories it came with. Basic supplies such as cotton fabric, thread, and scissors will be available for your use. Note: Due to the customized nature of this lesson content, this event is for one student.
