Description
Bubba Boy and Lexie Grey are purebred AKC registered German Shepherd siblings who were surrendered to us because their family loves them so very much but are no longer able to keep up with their needs due to declining health and wanted to give them what is best. They come as a package deal as they are extremely attached to each other and will require ongoing rehabilitation training even after finding their forever family. They are both up to date on all vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea/tick prevention and health checks. They have also been completely covered by pet insurance since their previous owner got them at 11 weeks. The new owners SHOULD be able to get insurance easier if they choose because of this. They are both well established at Valley Veterinarian Clinic in Red Bluff if you ever have questions about their medical history. They are also very good with children and both do very well with indoor cats that they see as family but will bark at others that enter the yards. Unfortunately they are dog aggressive, it is fear aggression as they were attacked by other dogs in their own yard when they were younger. We have been working on their dog aggression as part of their rehabilitation work and Bubba is far more receptive to ignoring other dogs than Lexie. They both need to be kenneled when left alone as they can be destructive but they are well kennel trained and do not make any attempts to escape. They both sleep inside very well every night but absolutely NEED daily adequate outside time in a safe environment. Bubba and Lexie are not food aggressive but do need to be fed separately as they have different eating styles and feedings requirements. Lexie: Lexie has a medical condition known as EPI but it is very manageable. She will need pancre-plus tablets to put in her food and eat a low fat diet. She thinks she is a lap dog and loves to cuddle. She likes to sleep at the end of the bed but will end up diagonal across it if she has the space. She is not big on training but knows the basic commands: sit, stay, down, come, out, kennel up, no, inside and no face (she likes to sneak a lick to the face when she can). She can walk on a leash but she is a jumper and pulls very hard, this is something we are working on with her rehab but it will need to be continued. Bubba: Bubba has no medical issues at all. He is extremely trainable and loves to go threw drills but is antagonized to disregard training when with Lexie. His favorite toys are tennis balls but he also loves his squeaking pig toys, as well as his stuffed owl toy. He knows all the commands Lexie knows and would be very easy to teach more to if you felt inclined to do so. He does love to dig holes but it’s not to escape, just to bark at the dirt and into the holes. He also LOVES to snuggle and give his version of a hug. Bubba walks well on a leash, with no jumping and minimal pulling.
