Description

Building a strong family network is extremely important. Connecting with others provides social support and strengthens resilience. Children who may feel helpless can feel empowered by helping others through volunteer work or asking for assistance with mastering task. Join in this important discussion as Julie Griffin discusses ways to help create emotional resilience. Julie Griffin is the co-founder of Carolina Counseling Partners with a focus on family dynamics and relationships. She recently celebrated 36 years of marriage and has 4 married daughters and 6 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for family, traveling, and supervising interns in her clinical practice. Her goal is to help parents raise emotionally intelligent children and aid families in navigating issues such as social media, peer friendships, depression, and anxiety. This is a great opportunity for families of children with mental, health and developmental challenges to connect with other families affected by similar situations. Parents will enjoy the discussion and participate in a Parent Chat while children can delight in structured play at the Children's Museum of the Upstate with special needs trained volunteers. This is a FREE event sponsored by the Barbara Stone Foundation and limited to the first 50 families to register.
