We are a group of history enthusiasts. parents and students comprised of local community members who did not see us reflected in the history of Newport. Because there was no history that we could relate to and felt there must be so many untold stories out there, we began researching. We present to you a walking tour that humanizes the 18th century community of African heritage by offering a look into their lives.
