Looking for Bandmates—Pop/Rock/Dance

I am a pop/rock/dance music lover (esp. 80s and 70s) who likes to mess around with keys and synths. I am an advanced beginner at best but believe it won’t be long before I can confidently perform simple arrangements live as well as in the studio. This includes sequencing MIDI as necessary. I am also interested in songwriting. I enjoy singing (Tenor) but do not know if I would make a convincing lead singer of a professional band. I can try to fill in as lead singer until a lead singer is identified should we decide to go with someone else. Right now I am looking to meet musicians who are at or above my level who may be interested in getting together once or twice a week to jam initially without pay. We should be motivated by learning and fun and then see where it leads. I am open to starting with cover songs but my long-term goal is original music so I hope you are open to both of these options. I have access to small rehearsal space (though parking is a pain) only if we are willing to practice temporarily with an e-drum kit. I live in northern New Jersey close to Manhattan. We gig when we feel ready in which case we will split the performance and songwriter’s copyright fees. This is intended to be a long-term collaboration so patience is necessary. I am targeting a group of no more than 3-5 members in its steady state. I think the following roles could be complementary: -Drummer (to audition preferably with acoustic kit but since I don’t have continuous access to rehearsal space for this level of loudness you should own and be willing to practice on an e-drum kit for rehearsals; I have drum modules for sounds) -Bassist -Guitarist -Keyboards/Synth -Vocalist -Songwriting I myself will audition for you as a temporary lead singer and someone to play simple chords/pads on synth. I wish to contribute to songwriting though I have no professional experience. Sorry to be negative here but no illegal drug users please. Also due to a personal allergy problem, I cannot be around smokers for long periods of time. Finally, you should not have any employment or contractual restrictions, judicial “restraints,” medical enhancement, or any other factor that precludes you from doing this for pay if we get to that point.
