Time to vote again

I guess my first concern when casting a vote on November 8 will be to hopefully vote for someone who will not attempt to overthrow the current system of government we've have for about 250 years. I suppose that means I'm not really going to be in favor of anyone who believes the last presidential was stolen. It's odd, that is my top priority this cycle. It probably should not be, but thats how it is. I'm pretty concerned about some candidates willingness to delegitimize a lawful, fair election to get their way. All polititians take an oath when they are sworn into office. I'm questioning their intention to uphold that oath given their intent to spread doubt on the election process before they are even elected. I hear politians talk about "entitlement reforms". In my mind I am entitled to the money that was withdrawn from my pay check ever pay period. I'm retired and quit content with my status as a retiree. Social Security and medicare is good stuff. I'm pleased that I have a good life in retirement and not living in poverty. Naturally I don't want to lose that. I'm very mindful of what happened on January 6, 2021. I'm a bit uneasy when some folks want to just sweep that event under the rug and forget it ever took place. It's truly a different reality when we've seen video of folks fleeing the mob that day and are now denouncing or downplaying the effort to bring justice to the mob who terrorized them. I witnessed with my own eye's and ears many elected politicians (leaders of our country) blame the previous president for inciting that mob. They wanted to hold him accountable, then later denied ever saying such. When the whole thing was recorded. We all witnessed it. When I was a kid I read comic books. I was mostly a Marvel fan back then, but sometimes I read DC comics. One peticular Superman comic comes to mind. It's been many years, but it was the story of Superman in an alternate universe where everything was backwards relative to our known universe. It was called Bizzaro World..... I really wish I could go and vote on November 8th and be mindfull of the standard things we Americans are concerned about. My concerns are much different this time. I feel like I'm living in Bizzaro World. I'm concerned that our institutions that make us who we are have been marginalized. I'm concerned that the process of free and fair election is being questioned.. Not questioned by rational thinkers, questioned by what appear to be anarchist. Our form of government has worked for a very long time. Our institutions have been solid. Immigration has in the past been a pillar of our democracy. America welcomed the outsiders as a place where people could come to and work hard and build a better life and be a part of something bigger than themselves. I don't think we are the proud America we were after WWII. We are something much different and I am fearful, but I will vote.
