Description
Quartet of 2 guitars/bass/drums seeks keys player to round out a lineup. We're at the very start of this journey. We are hoping to make danceable, catchy, and literate music, both originals and creative covers. We enjoy group improvisation just as much as songcrafting.
if you:
- love love LOVE to make music,
- know music theory
- have broad tastes and big ears and are not afraid to experiment and improvise ("jamband" should not be a dirty word)
- prioritize the intrinsic worth of music itself and not the commercial business success of a band
- yet, have been in gigging bands before and know what that's all about
- are responsible and reliable
- have some great vintage keyboard sounds (b3, rhodes, clav, analog synth) and even some spacier bizarre effects
- (bonus!) can sing lead and harmonies
- (double bonus!) write songs and are excited about playing them with a band
we should get together and jam.
You'd be coming into a situation where we can work from a good set of originals, but it's still wide open. nothing is off the table. we're expecting new band members to bring new flavors in. we want that. We don't have any recordings of ourselves yet but if you reply we can send links to prior and other projects from each of us.
here's one from me (guitar/vox/songs): soundcloud.com/davidtaus
bands/sounds we like: grateful dead, bill frisell, snarky puppy, late era miles, phish, herbie hancock, fela, the band, beastie boys (instrumentals!), radiohead, aretha, paul simon, STS9, talking heads, allmans, the crusaders, vulfpeck, jimmy smith, grant green, old motown, 80's and 90's radio hits, piano jazz, most anything eno touches.
drop a line if this sounds like you. send us a link to the awesome sounds that you make and if it all looks good let's set something up. we can't wait to jam.
