Description

The Connect Workshop is for parents/guardians of adolescents between 5th and 10th grade. The overall goal of the Connect Workshop is to positively influence parent-child dialogue in regards to the harms of marijuana and other potentially risky adolescent behaviors including but not limited to; adolescent gambling, gaming and digital screen use. The Connect Workshop does not address nor judge parents for their own current or past substance use, but rather encourages parents to connect with and support each other while also providing parents tools to connect with their kids through important and influential conversations. The Workshop primarily uses The Marijuana Talk Kit with the understanding that the skills, information and strategies learned can be applied to an array of adolescent risk factors for other harmful adolescent behaviors.
