FLORENCE DORE (w BAND)

Just home from a monthlong tour, Florence will head back out of town again at the end of November, so catch her for this LAST LOCAL SHOW OF THE YEAR.
Professor by day and rock star by night, Florence Dore is a singer-songwriter and Professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, touring hither and yon in support of her second album, Highways and Rocketships (Propeller Sound Recordings), produced by Don Dixon and Mitch Easter, AND The Ink in the Grooves: Conversations on Literature and Rock n Roll (Cornell University Press).
She is also a co-creator for the Billboard-charting compilation album Cover Charge.
SAM FRAZIER (SOLO)
Sam Frazier is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Greensboro, NC who’s music blends emotional and musical complexity with the heart of a rock-n-roller. He has released two solo CDs (Half a Million Years and Sam Frazier). He was a member of the band Tornado with whom he released a long playing record album (First Alert) and a CD (When a Breeze Breaks Your Bones), and has opened shows for Joan Armatrading, The Neville Brothers, America, The Funky Meters, The Duhks, The Del McCrory Band, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Eric Church, Craig Morgan & Root Boy Slim, to name a few. Currently, he performs solo, with his band, Sam Frazier & the Side Effects and with Molly McGinn & the Joy Band. Occasionally he is privileged to accompany folks like Florence Dore, Jeffery Dean Foster & Laurelyn Dossett.
