So often stereotypes and labels prevent us from connecting to the inherent worth and dignity of our fellow human beings. Omaha Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP), a prison-based nonprofit, will share who they are, what they do and invite you to explore and hopefully dismiss, some of the misconceptions and stereotypes you have learned about people with lived incarceration experiences. AVP is not a religious organization. The theme of the morning will be one of social justice not religion, but you may find a message that connects with your personal spirituality and beliefs.
