Since 2007, The Mary L. Thomas Award for Civic Leadership and Community Change Fund has recognized individuals in our community who are working to address critical issues facing Spartanburg County. Each year, the Foundation awards a deserving individual the Mary L. Thomas Award for Civic Leadership and Community Change at The Spartanburg County Foundation’s Annual Meeting.
In addition to the Award, the Fund recognizes individuals who are continually working to bring new and creative ideas to fruition in addressing key community issues and concerns. This year, The Mary L. Thomas Award for Civic Leadership and Community Change Fund hosts a luncheon to recognize six women in the greater Spartanburg County community who exemplify the visionary leadership and qualities that embody this Award. Together, attendees celebrate the accomplishments of women leading change in Spartanburg County while using our collective voice to uplift, encourage and inspire others to their highest good. Honorees are selected for their contributions in five areas of community leadership.
We thank the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, our presenting sponsor, for supporting this effort to honor the following women leaders serving Spartanburg County residents:
The 2022 honorees are: ANNE FLYNN (Community); LATRON MCDANIEL (Faith); Representative RITA ALLISON (Leadership); SUNDRA PROCTOR and CIERRA FOWLER KELLY (Courage); and CINDY JACKSON KELLY (Civic Engagement).
We welcome all to join us for this opportunity to celebrate and inspire women leading our community.
