Hero Art Project, a community-engaged art exhibit, seeks two part-time On-Site Coordinators during the exhibit's residency on the National Mall. The exhibit runs Nov 10-28 (excluding T-giving) with open hours from 10am - 4pm. Two positions available - a morning shift from 9:30am-1pm, and an afternoon shift from 1-4:30pm. It is also possible for two coordinators to alternate full days, or for one extraordinary candidate to take on the full job. Pay is $15/hr, or about $1000/ea over the duration of the project. ABOUT THE PROJECT Throughout the pandemic, the ARTHOUSE.NYC digital artist community created The Hero Art Project, portraits of healthcare heroes who passed away while fighting COVID:19. After exhibits in NYC and Miami, The Hero Art Project will be exhibiting on the National Mall in DC in November 10-28, 2022. Our generous partners at The Brave of Heart Fund have made this exhibition and memorial a reality. The exhibit will be inside a tiny house digital art gallery that will sit on the National Mall at 12th Street. Alongside the tiny home, a pop-up tent will offer art therapy activities, music, meditation and more. ABOUT THE JOB Onsite Coordinators help to ensure that the physical exhibit on the National Mall (at 12th Street) goes smoothly, and that all visitors - volunteers, visiting groups, art therapists and program facilitators - have a point person on site. Responsibilities may include: - Helping with load-in on the National Mall on Wed, Nov 9, and take-down on Mon, Nov 28. - Assisting with set-up and/or take down each day, Nov 10-28 (excluding Thanksgiving). - Welcoming visitors, guiding them through the exhibit and/or the connected art project. - Keeping space and supplies tidy, including tiny home upkeep (refilling water, fetching gasoline, bathroom maintenance) - Regular communication with the producing team, volunteers and art therapists to be sure everyone knows where to be and what to expect.
