The RI Music scene may not be what it once was 20 or 30 year ago but it doesn't have to stay that way. Growing a musical community begins and ends with the love of it, and if you're only looking at it from a monetary perspective then you've already lost (and are certainly in the wrong business). I recorded In Lieu of Flowers after they responded to my "Free Recording" as well as The Wildland Band and a few others so far. All of these folks I've worked with in person are wonderful, talented, and PASSIONATE. I'm happy to say that this experiment has fueled a desire to continue offering free recording to those who need it, as well as incredibly affordable rates to those who are able provide it. And before certain craigslist trolls respond with something contrarian - just don't, I know more then you. We as a community should be cheering each other on and working together to build something larger then ourselves. So, lets get to work. -Paul
