First, shift position 6 am - 2:30 pm Monday through Friday. Duties: Measure, examine, and operate the planer in a manner to assure conformance to specifications specific to each project. Apply all patterns to confirm uniformity to drawing specifications. Set up, adjust, and operate radial and/or linear planers. Check tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and squares. Position and fasten stock to tables in a stable and secure manner. Align, adjust and secure all cutting tools, attachments, and accessories required for the completion of each project. Layout measure and mark stock to facilitate accurate and efficient fabrication. Observe and listen to operating machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments and repairs. Advise the supervisor of discrepancies or concerns regarding the equipment being operated or the stock material being used. Must be able to perform heavy labor tasks including lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, walking Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
