This workshop will cover the expected components of a successful proposal for federal and foundation grants with a focus on funding available to projects serving Native Americans. Participants will review a Request for Proposal for a federal grant, a grant application for a foundation and four funded proposals. Participants will create an outline of a grant proposal including Needs Assessment with a table shell, objectives, timeline, budget, person-loading chart and project summary. Participants will share proposal outlines and make recommendations on drafts of others.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify and describe required elements of a successful grant proposal. Create a budget for a grant proposal including linked person-loading chart Write specific, measurable objectives for a grant proposal that are responsive to the focus of the program or foundation to which they intend to apply Identify the types of data required for a needs assessment and provide examples of sources for that data
