Job Title: Maintenance Technician II Job Purpose: The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs for the Burlingame campus, vacation homes and community owned residences throughout the Bay Area. Responsible for assisting with projects, work orders, building repairs, maintenance and overall upkeep of the Sisters of Mercy Campus. Acts in the capacity of lead, which involves day-to-day operations and daily/weekly assignments when coverage is needed. Qualifications: Education, Competencies and Experience To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following education, competencies, and experience: Position Qualifications: Required: • Associate's degree or equivalent from two year College or Technical Trade School in general maintenance, plumbing, electrical, heating, etc.: or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Three years of experience in building and equipment repair required. • Possess generalized basic knowledge of the practices and methods used in general maintenance (HVAC, building maintenance and repair, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, gardening and landscaping). • Ability to operate equipment and tools associated with general maintenance. • Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions in English. • Possesses problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Comfortable using computers and other basic tech equipment. • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and have a “clean” Motor Vehicle Record. • Personal integrity is necessary to carry out the mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy. • Ability to maintain good communication in working with Sisters of Mercy, fellow employees and external contractor. • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Must be available to be on-call during weekends, weekdays, and some holidays following regular shifts. • Demonstrates the ability to multitask, the ability to prioritize work and pay close attention to details.
