HASSE Contracting Co., Inc. is looking for a heavy equipment operator for the state New Mexico area that can run a Backhoe, Skidsteer and Excavator. Operate machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials associated with road and bridges construction industry. Responsibilities: • Works with the crew • Operates machinery • Receives written or oral instructions to move or excavate material • Measures and verifies levels of rock or gravel, base, and other excavated material • Directs ground workers engaged in activities, such as moving stakes or markers • Controls operations of equipment or systems • Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed • Adjusts actions in relation to others’ actions • Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly • Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents Experience: • High School graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent training • Has 2-3 years of previous experience Description: • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, and snow. • Be able to sit for long periods of time while operating machinery • Possess good vision (normal or corrected) • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, and balance • Be able to lift up to 51 lbs • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers. • Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with safety standards in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. • Constantly use hands and arms to control operations • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves) when deemed necessary or mandatory. • Must be able to wear respirators when required. • Must be able to work 8 or 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime and night shifts as required. • Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions • Must be able to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down • Must be able to know locations in relation to the environment or to know where other objects are in relation to him/her Benefits include: • 401 (K). • Health Insurance. • Dental Insurance. • Vision Insurance. • weekly pay
